Restrict entire group to change the ETA field in Jira

Zhivko Zhelev August 23, 2021

Dear All,

We would like to restrict an entire group in our organization from changing the ETA field in Jira.

According to what I've read the only way is with ScriptRunner -> Behaviours.

However, we are looking for something free or any setting we can use in order to make this possible.

Thanks,

Zhivko

@Nic Brough -Adaptavist- can you suggest something free or less expensive?

Nothing I know of for free, but I've usually gone to https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/23216/field-security-plugin-for-jira?hosting=server&tab=overview in the past.  There are a couple more options to consider nowadays - see https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?query=secure+fields

Jira does not have field level security.  You need an app in order to do this sort of thing.

Hey Nic,

I have installed ScriptRunner on our stg environment. I have set the following rule:

Then I have added the group in question to the test user:

But yet I am able to modify the ETA with this user:

Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong?

Best Regards,

Zhivko
