hi team,
SSO for Atlassian Data center is installed in our Jira server instance. Could you please help me in clarifying below queries
1. How to identify whether SSO for Atlassian Data center is in use in Jira server?
2. How to check what data is associated with plugin SSO for Atlassian Data center?
Thanks
Ashima Bhatia
Hi Vedant,
Thanks for the update.
Actually my query is related to SSO for Atlassian Data center plugin usage in jira server. How can I check whether this plugin is getting used in jira server?
If any relevant data to support usage, that would be better.
Thanks
Ashima
@Ashima Bhatia , this app provides SAML SSO connectivity which will be configurable only from System sections under the Security panel. If you find any connection details added under tabs such as SSO 2.0 or Authentication methods (again as I said, depending on the version the name could be different), that means your Jira is using SSO/SAML functionality.
You can also, try this approach but I will highly recommend performing on UAT only. Try it by disabling the app from the Manage Apps section and logging out from the session, see if you are stuck at the login screen, then it means the app is utilized in Jira, and if not then you can continue without enabling it.

You would need to verify a few things at the configuration level which results in clarifying your queries.
Please check the add-on has been enabled from the Manage Apps sections
If yes, then this add-on will provide the functionality of user authentications and generally, the location can be found in System -> Security(left panel).
Depending on which version of the server & add-on that you are using, you may see the difference in naming but the functionality remains the same which is nothing but SAML & Idp connectivity.

Thanks for the update Vedant.
Kindly help in resolving below query:
When I click on 'Authentication Methods', Login options load in the screen. Now, if I want to check and verify those login options and usage of SSO with reference do those login options, how can I do that? i.e. my ultimate goal is find out where all(project, issues, user details directories, or any parameter in jira, etc.) instances where SSO is getting used.

@Ashima Bhatia This SSO add-on is only meant for configuring authentication methods for your Jira users. Hence, the addon will not have references at the project, issues, and user levels.
However, if you want to verify, you can do it from the login page. Try in incognito mode or re-logging into the application and see if you have one or more logging options at the login screen.
I have more than 1 login options configured, from which I have enabled only one on the login page of Jira-Software and another one is for Jira-Service-Management. See if you have similar ones and if possible show the snapshot.
