Saved filter not showing under Project -> Issues

Wilson February 19, 2018

Below image is the left hand side menu I see when I navigate to Project -> Issues. My saved filter is not listed and I have to click on "Advanced Search" in order to see my saved filter.

How can I make my saved filter show up in the list under Project -> Issues?

I just checked. I have the same behaviour. I guess, it is a feature:)

is there an easier way to access my saved filter? That additional click on "Advanced Search" is quite a pain, considering if i were to access my saved filter every day and several times a day.

Push the search icon and you will see your favourite filters.

Have to be honest here, this is the worst user experience ever and is deeply frustrating.

If I want to see the personalized issue searches for a project I need to go up a global level to see it, while I could have everything under Projects -> Issues.

This shows a lot of how messy Atlassian is.

I agree with Luis. The UX for filters is not a pleasant one.

 - Clicking "Advanced Search" from within a project filter takes me to the Global filter screen. How does that make sense for the user? And besides that, it doesn't even land on the "Advanced" UI. You still have to click Advanced a second time.

 - After creating a project specific filter and assigning the permissions to that project, I still don't have access to that filter within the specified project.

These things make running filters within a project take multiple clicks instead of just one. So frustrating.

I can only agree.

I have "starred" a filter that is specific to a board. However, I do not see it in my left hand panel when I am on "issues & filters" of said board. However, clicking on "view all filters" suddenly there the starred filter is on top of the list (see image).

Please move the starred filters so they appear on the panel of the respective board(s). Thanks.

This problem with the starred filters still exists, currently there's little value in starring a filter as it's just as easy to find it without the star.

So there is no way to make custom filters show up in a project without adding a link?

There has to be a better way.

To make this less depressing, I'm using sidebar custom links. Every project filter that I create I put the hard link on the sidebar.

I haven't noticed "sidebar custom links" - Luis, could you elaborate on where these are maintained?

On the screenshot below, the item "All Problems" is a custom link to a saved filter.

You can click on "Add Item" to create a custom link. If you don't see this maybe you need permissions.

That is a good idea.

Still very bad UX in general implemented in this version....

Thank you Louis, this is a workaround but still takes the user to a new tab inside the global navigation. The user is still not working within the Project when viewing these saved lists. Still requires navigating between browser tabs.

Atlassian, you have joined the UX ranks of Sharepoint which required for many years the use of the browser's "Back" button to navigate.

Please assume when users save a filter and assign it to a Project, that they will want to access it from within the project and remain within the Project 🙂

It seems there are now two different side menus - from the top-level (?) "Issues" item the filters are not included, but in the "Issue Navigator" view the filters ARE included.

This may help people find their filters using the new interface.

I would prefer if BOTH "Issues" menus included the filters, however.
