Im looking for a Scriptrunner behaviour to find out if a custom field already exists, If it exists when the issue is created it shouldnt be added to avoid duplicate issues.

I think that a string search of all issue summaries when an issue is created will not perform well.
How big a problem is this? Is it service desk?
