I have a request to determine the assignees at each state of the lifecycle for a set of issues.

i.e Assignee when In Dev, and Assignee when Done, etc.

We can manually go through the history of each issue - which is very time consuming.

I am wondering if this can be done using JQL.

Something like:

  • Assignee when status WAS "In Development"
  • Assignee when status WAS "Done"

Any assistance or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hello @Craig Parsons

There are 2 simple methods to track assignee changes in the issue. Both of them you can try by using the Time in Status for Jira Cloud add-on.

Here're 2 use cases, which describe in detail how to get necessary data just in a few clicks.

1. Time in Status per Assignee using a Pivot table function.

2. Assignee time per Status.

So. you can choose the method that is more convenient for you.

This add-on is developed by my team and is free for using for teams up to 10 users. Please, let me know if you have any questions.

Hope you find it helpful.

Hi @Craig Parsons

Welcome to the community!

Unfortunately this kind of report is not possible out of the box. You would be better off with a reporting plugin such as eazybi that can track the history of the last assignee at a specific status and report it in a table view.

Feel free to contact them.
