Seeking advice on sending sev-1/2 Jira incidents to Opsgenie group pager

I'm assuming this is setup from Jira vs OpsGenie but just want to be sure.   I would consider myself more of a novice in Jira but moderate admin skills with OpsGenie.

I would recommend having a read of this article as it describes escalation policies quite well and may be what you're after

This is a general guideline on how I would approach it, please note the steps may slightly vary for your setup and environment. 

• Create an Opsgenie API integration key in your Opsgenie account.
• In Jira, go to Settings > System > Webhooks.
• Click "Create a Webhook."
• In the "Details" section, give your webhook a name and provide the URL for the Opsgenie API integration key.
• In the "Events" section, select the events you want to trigger the webhook. For Sev-1/2 incidents, you may want to select the "Issue Created," but you can also use "Issue Updated" etc depending on what events you want to trigger the webhook with. 
• In the "JQL" section, write a JQL query to select the Sev-1/2 issues. Something along the lines of  "priority = 'Sev-1' OR priority = 'Sev-2'." etc.
• Save your webhook.

There you go! Now whenever a Sev-1/2 incident is created in Jira, the webhook will send a notification to your Opsgenie group pager. (In theory of course :) , as mentioned these steps may differ slightly depending on your environment).
