Hi.
We have some contractors on temporary bases.
I created a Jira group called "temporary users".
I would like to know how I can I restrict users in this group to view only 1 project and access only 1 space in Confluence.
My concern is as follows:
1. Every Jira user is assigned by default to the jira-software-users group.
2. This group is set up with the ability to browse projects and issues in each project we have.
3. Therefore, temporary users also get this access to browse all projects. What is the best way to set the temporary users group to view only 1 project?
Thanks,
HI @Gil
In this case ...you should not add default jira-software-users group in the browse project permission for all the project.
Wherever you want to restrict the project to access from users you should use either project roles or custom create groups but not the default groups.
Because these groups are for application access where we can add them in applications like jiea-servicedesk-users for JSD and all.
Create a new permission scheme and provide browse project permission rights to the temporary-users group for the respective project.
Thanks.
I created a copy from the default permission to my project.
I removed the temporary users from jira-software-users and created a temp group.
I gave that group jira access and then added browse project permission to that group.
It was easier that way.
Thanks again.
