I need to share some information between two (sometimes even 3) Jira instances. On my side it's a team-managed instance, on the other side it's a company managed instance.
So far I (kind of) help myself with referenced issues on both sides.
Example: In the custom text field "external reference" in my Jiras issue [myCompanyIssue-1234], I paste the URL of the other Jiras issue [otherCompanyIssue-567] and vice versa (custom field in the other Jira with the link to my Jiras issue).
Of course this is all manual work! Is there probably an easier/better approch to share issues between several Jira instances?
Am I the only one facing this challenge?
Hey @Olivier Wehrli
there are lots of people facing challenges with multiple Jira instances.
My main question to start it off would be: What information do you want to share?
Curious to hear more about your use case.
Cheers,
Matthias.
Thanks @Matthias Gaiser _K15t_ and @Alexander Hohmann !
It's mainly like business ideas and changes on one side, it-solutions on the other. So it is most of all about dependencies like ..."hey, business guys can test now as developers deployed a fix." or similar.
I'll check your inputs and see if one might fit.
Thanks a lot.
cheers,
Olivier

It seems this has been discussed here for instance (no pun intended):
