Show archived versions on Jira issue cards

Link Lee July 8, 2018

I just found out that once a fix version is archived, the version label tagging on issue cards will disappear. Now in my sprint, I have a bunch of issues that look like they don't have a fix version, but they are just done!

I wonder if there is a way I can show them while keeping them archived (because I don't wanna people to select it anymore)?

Any ideas will be appreciated!

Hello Link,

As covered in Managing versions, an archived version is used to "hide an old version from the Change Log reports, and in the Jira User Interface." as a "semi-transparent package"

When you create or edit an issue in the project, archived versions won't appear in the list. It is the intended use case to prevents users from using the version once archived and revolving visibility of the item from various locations.

You will still be able to search issues using archived versions because some issues already have that version present in the field , and the archive function does not remove the variable.  Locations such as the main issue view screen will maintain the issue version data as readable, but locations such as the cards on an active sprint or backlog this is hidden.

Regards,
Earl
