Unfortunately, Jira is very poor in viewing the information it is housing.
I just want to show:
Epic1
- Story 1 (Epic Link)
- Task 1 (Child of Story)
- Task 2
- Story 2
- Task 11
- Task 12
I tried a lot... but I cannot get it working...
It would also be great to get the right order in such a view...
Any Ideas?
Thank you
Please check this plugin. Links Hierarchy for Jira & Agile
I have this one... a lot of times this view is very confusing. maybe with the right way of linking epic, stories and tasks it might look better.
But the order cannot be changed, right?

Hello Florian,
For showing how issues are linked in Jira you can check out our Structure app. You would be able to build structures with any hierarchy you have and there is no limitation on its depth.
Here is a link to our live demo where you can see and feel a structure with a similar hierarchy just to get an idea what it's like:
Additionally, issues can be grouped by certain Jira fields, sorted by the order you need and filtered, you can work with issues (if you click on any issue it will be opened in the right panel of a structure), track made progress and there are plenty of other interesting and useful features, that allow you to visualize your projects as well as manage them right from your structures.
If you would want to know more - please contact us via our Service Desk portal - support.almworks.com - and we will be glad to answer all of your question and give you a proper presentation on what Structure can do.
Best regards,
Stepan Kholodov

Just need to get the 8000$ approved... might take some time..

I cannot get the Gantt Chart to open. Is this an error in your demo project?

Hello Florian,
Glad to hear that Structure looks promising to you!
As for the demo instance - everything works fine on our end. Could you please describe what happens when you select the ‘Gantt Chart’ layout?

Gantt Chart Is Not Available
Gantt Chart does not exist and you don't have permissions to create it.

Hello Florian,
Thank you for the clarification. This message appears when a user doesn’t have the right access level to a structure. Which is strange, because you should be automatically logged in as the ‘demo’ user that has all required permissions. Could you please check that you logged in as Demo User? And if not, please log in manually using credentials: demo/demo and try to select the ‘Gantt Chart’ layout in the structure again.
Please let me know it goes.
Best regards,
Stepan Kholodov

Unfortunately my IT department does not want to install your solution @Stepan Kholodov _ALM Works_. They had a try out but the performance was too bad for them.

Are you using an Agile Board? If you don't want to use any add-ons, you can use the Agile Board instead and change the configuration to show swimlanes as epics.

I do that, but unfortunately, I still don't see which Task belongs to what story...

Do you have an epic link on those tasks? Stories and Tasks have the same level in the heirarchy. If you want, you should convert your tasks to sub-tasks.

Exactly this is my problem. I have linked all issues via Epic Link and between Story and Task i have "child of". I cannot work with it that stories and tasks are the same hierarchy...
