I previously created a Jira Software site at mylastname.atlassian.net using my school email. I believe I later deleted it. The name is now reserved, and I’d like to reuse it under my personal email because I just graduated and will soon lose the school email.

I’m happy to verify ownership privately — I’m avoiding posting the exact site name here since it includes personally identifying information. Could an Atlassian staff member assist?

Hi @Steven Radig and welcome,

you should raise a request to Atlassian team here https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/

Hope this helps,

Fabio

Thank you for the quick response. Your suggestion is what I tried first. Unfortunately, that contact form is a roadblock and doesn’t allow me to contact Jira. It forces me to contact the site admin (me), ask the community (what I’m doing), or read documentation (doubt they have this issue documented).

What would you do if you were me?

I found that :
Reusing a site name (URL):
  • After a site is deleted, the URL may take a few days to be released for reuse.
  • You can request an immediate deletion to release the URL faster.
  • Data is retained for 60 days after deletion.

I think that you need to wait that the site has released.

Regards,

Fabio
