We are having an issue with our existing Jira server "atlassian-jira-software-8.20.1-x64".

Issue: Slow performance, Sometimes Jira does not load, Issue creation problem, sometimes filter does not work and sometimes Jira does not respond.

Error Example: The call to the jira server did not complete within the timeout period. We are unsure of the result of this operation. CLose this dialog and press refresh in your browser.
Issue arises: It's happening after upgrading the jira.

Temporary Solution: Restart the Jira then it works for 2-3 hours and then the same issue arises again.

Current System Configuration:
CPU: 12, RAM: 44 GB and Model name: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU @ 2.20GHz

JVM Heap:
Max and Min: 8 GB

CPU and Memory utilization is normal.

DB: MySQL

I am looking forward to hearing from experts regarding this issue. Please help.

Hello,

I really like to push this question because we have a similar issue since we upgraded to atlassian-jira-software-8.20.1.

The performance in Jira is very slow.

We have error messages that the Jira server does not respond etc. We can use it but it is very slow.

Also we have some strange warnings like "activity stream time budget is temporarily exceeded".

Contrary to the first post, we recognize serious changes in the CPU load as you can see here:

We have excluded that this is related to our usage because we have the same load on a Jira test instance with nearly no interaction on it.

We really appreciate any help on that issue. Thanks!

Hi,

I also have experienced performance issues (especially in memory usage) after upgrading to 8.13 from 8.5. Atlassian support solution unfortunately was to "increase memory" but I could not figure why the it was suddenly used to its maximum, causing shutdowns (same curve as above).
