Snapshot view of remaining time of the linked issues

I have Epic/User story/ Sub Tasks structure , also have few custom issue types defined. My concern is I need to see a snapshot view of the parent and its linked issues (standard issue types/ sub tasks) connected to parent issue so that I know how much time is reported and how much is remaining for the parent issue. 

* Can I estimate the parent issue as well as the linked issues, I get the numbers doubled here? How to overcome this?

* How to see the progress of the parent issue in terms of time estimated, and remaining time

I have this same issue and do a lot of manual time adding... now that I know I am not alone, I will be on the search to see if I can find something that helps us both.
