Sprint Report

Rudy O_ March 10, 2025

Hello,

I am looking for a solution to have a Sprint report displaying a fraction per resource with :

  • the number of the tickets resolved during the sprint
  • the total number of tickets assigned during the sprint

example: Sprint01 : 15/20

Already explored pivot report, plans, and different query but couldn't find a good way yet

Thank you for your help

Hi @Rudy O_ ,

You can try the app I developed specifically for your needs outlined here and beyond - Multi-team Scrum Metrics & Retrospective.

You can choose how to compare metrics - either to the Initial Scope or the Final Scope. Here is an example of a comparison to the Final Scope.

You can also see the summary:

If you would like to conduct a retrospective on why there were a number of incomplete tickets, you can do so in place, right from this view.

There are many other features available. For example, you can track any custom metric constructed using JQL across various periods - sprints, months, quarters, half-years, or years- for multiple teams in a single view.

Best regards,
Alexey

Hi @Rudy O_

While Jira doesn't natively support this level of per-user breakdown in the standard sprint report, there are apps in the Atlassian Marketplace that can help.

One tool you might find useful is the Smart Productivity & Team Performance Dashboard for Jira. It’s designed to give you clear visibility into team and individual performance, including sprint-level stats.

Screenshot 2025-03-25 at 13.01.26.png

With this app, you can:

  • Track the number of issues assigned vs. completed per team member during a sprint

  • See weekly breakdowns by project, sprint, epic, and issue type

  • Organize team members by role (e.g., Engineer, QA) and compare performance

  • Quickly assess contributions without building complex JQL queries or reports

It pulls data from Jira (and optionally Confluence & GitHub) and summarizes it in a clean dashboard view. Might be worth a try if you're looking to get those "15/20" style metrics you mentioned.

Hope this helps

Hi @Rudy O_

If you would be interested in a mktplace app for this requirement, pls do take a look at
Agile Velocity & Status Gadgets

The app comes with few dashboard gadgets to track team member's / team's velocity / productivity based on story points / time spent / issue count in a sprint  and also track sprint status with multiple parameters. The app works for past / closed sprints too.

Hi @Rudy O_   👋
Welcome to the Community!

If you're open to apps, Sprint Report from Time in Status can be a great solution.

How Time in Status Sprint Report Can Help:

  • Multi-Sprint Analysis – View trends over the past 7 sprints to identify peaks and valleys in workload.
  • Tracks time spent in each status during the sprint
  • Highlights issues that were not completed and carried over
  • Provides data exports & visualizations for deeper analysis
  • Historical Data Tracking – Helps correlate trends with infrastructure-related obsolescence work.

Add-on developed by my team.

I hope you find this helpful 🚀

Hi @Rudy O_

Welcome to the community!

You could use the OOTB Velocity Chart from Jira; it may provide basic information. However, if you are looking for a more advanced solution, I recommend Mindro Insights. I work at Mindpro, and I think this app can help you with your requirements. It is simple to use and you can create Agile dashboards in seconds using the templates.

To illustrate that, I created a Scrum dashboard with some gadgets that may help you, such as the Velocity (which shows the committed, executed, and average). I also added the Sprint Progress and Epic progress charts. You can filter the dashboard by sprint if you prefer. The gadgets are interactive, which means they adapt the entire dashboard to your selection when you click on a chart segment.

You can choose from over 50 gadgets (pre-loaded or custom) available, and the dashboards can be shared internally or with customers via the Customer Portal. If you prefer, the custom gadgets are also available in Jira Standard dashboards as well.

I hope that helps.

Regards,

Eduardo

Hi @Rudy O_,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

This is not possible to do with Jira's out of the box gadgets or reports; you will need an app from Atlassian Marketplace.

If you don't manage to get it done by using your existing apps, you could also try the Pivot Table & Pivot Chart gadget offered by our Great Gadgets app.

By using this gadget you can display the number of tasks from each sprint by assignee and category. In this example, you should look at Done column (the number of the tickets resolved during the sprint)  and Totals column (representing the total number of tickets assigned during the sprint).

The gadget can be configured in many other ways. For example, a heat-map showing percentages would be more convenient for you.

Hope this helps.

Hello @Rudy O_ ,

On behalf of Pivot Report development I'd like to know what specifically didn't work for you in our app. Would it be possible to schedule a quick call to go over details of your needs?

Hello Dmitry,

I posted an example of what I am looking for.

I was able to have the number of tickets per Sprint, but I am looking for the completion, to assess the performance.

I tried with the JQL as well but a ticket can be close out of the Sprint so just looking at the completion is not accurate. The only way is to add the "status changed" in the query and look between the Sprint Start date and End date

but I was hoping my need is really common for anybody that want to assess their Sprint performance.

I appreciate the help, thank you so much !

Oh, turns out there's no notifications about replies unless @ mention used. Sorry, almost missed that.

Basically, you want cells to be filled using the dates from the sprints, right? One question on that: what would be the expected result if the issue has been assigned to multiple people across multiple sprints?

@Dmitry Astapkovich _Colined_ ,

I need to know when the ticket has been resolved.

I want to assess the performance of my team during a Sprint and see how many tickets they closed from the tickets assigned to them.

The JQL gives me the possibility to filter on tickets assigned to a Sprint and I can add the Status Changed After Date and Before Date to know what ticket has been resolved during the Sprint period but I am looking for a more efficient way and a better view.

I really think it will be valuable for all Jira users and specially for the Scrum Master and the ones that want to assess their Sprint Performance.
