Sprint estimation accuracy chart

PASQUIET_ ROMAIN October 25, 2019

Hello,

I would like to have a chart showing the estimation accuracy for each sprint:

estimation accuracy of the sprint [%] = sum story points resolved issues in the sprint / sum story points of the sprint

The Team Velocity gadget don't have the feature.

Is it possible to have it with rich filters gadgets?

I managed to get something similar with 2D rich filter statistics, but I don't have graph, nether percentage:

Measuring stories completed divided by final total story points may not reflect estimation accuracy:

  • Out of the box, Jira velocity doesn't distinguish issues in scope at the start of the sprint versus added, removed, or resized later.  So, you could be at 100% even though there was change in the work originally planned for the sprint.  You could also be at 50%, and have finished everything that was planned.
  • Measuring scope change for a sprint is a different measure, and can be seen on the sprint report...although not over time spanning sprints.

Then "hit rate" or "success rate" for each spriont is what I need.

We have very minor scope change in our sprints, it shouldn't be a problem to calculate our "success rate".

Hi @PASQUIET_ ROMAIN ,

There is an open ticket JSWSERVER-7653 for this feature. Please vote it.

Hi @Tansu Akdeniz

The velocity is something different than what I want.

And regarding this ticket, the gadget "Team Velocity" already displays the average velocity.
