I am project lead and have admin access
I added few custom columns for my teams active sprint board, however some of the columns are not visible as they say currently it does not have a status so will not show up
Hi @Meenu Mohan ,
To solve this you'll need to create a workflow in order to have your required statuses then you should associate the workflow to a certain project the you wanted to have those statuses. Once finished you should be able to see unmapped statuses in board setting. If it's a Kanban template, you should map the status to the column you wanted to. If it's a SCRUM template you can do as same as Kanban but you will need to have an active sprint in order to see the column in the project. I hope this information helps
Sincerely,
Khang
Hi @Meenu Mohan
Welcome to the community.
You need to map at least one status to the column to make it visible.

Hmm. so currently I have one ticket under Unmapped statuses, which I can drag and drop to any of the columns that is hidden now and it becomes visible. But for the remaining columns that are still hidden due to lack of tickets, either I need to add a proper ticket or if I can create status using " Add Status" button I can drag and drop it. However, I cannot see the " Add Status" button- and after going through the link you shared, I believe I need to have JIRA admin permission and not just the project/team board admin access? Am I right here?

Yes, you need more rights than board admin in order to create a new status in workflow.
Is it a simplified workflow? If yes,
The Add Status button is only available if you have the Jira 'Project Administrator' permission for this board's project. See Permissions overview for more information.
Please also check: Use the simplified workflow
