Hi, I was wondering is there any way we can see velocity chart that also calculate the storypoints burned while sprint ongoing?
It seems like velocity chart only calculate final story points done because the completed bar is mostly way less than commited bar. Meanwhile we want to see velocity for overall storypoints commited.
Thank you for your help.
Hi @Jessica Pertiwi ,
Unfortunately, the Velocity chart shows data only for finished sprints. For active sprints, you need to either use other reports such as Burn charts or 3rd party apps like the one I developed - Multi-team Scrum Metrics & Retrospective, with this you can see active sprints and conduct a detailed sprint analysis and improving performance of teams. You can even track your own custom metrics with it.
Best regards,
Alexey
Hello @Jessica Pertiwi Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
The velocity chart helps you figure out the capacity of your team. As you've seen, there's a comparison of the committed points and what gets completed at the end of the sprint.
To view progress during the sprint, you may want to look at a Burndown Chart.

Welcome to the community !!
You can use Jira Rest API's to get this data and build your own custom solution or if you would be interested in a mktplace add, to track story points committed and completed as a dashboard gadget, I can recommend our app. The app comes with couple of gadgets to track team member's or complete team's velocity in a sprint and also a complete sprint status overview. Do give it a try

Hi @Jessica Pertiwi,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Indeed, Jira's Team Velocity report only provides data for completed sprints, the ongoing one(s) not being included.
For a velocity report that includes also the ongoing sprints you will need a plugin from Atlassian Marketplace.
If you consider the idea of using a plugin, our Great Gadgets app offers a Team Velocity gadget that has an option to also display the active sprints.
In addition, the gadget can display more metrics comparing to the Jira report: % completion, % scope change, added, removed, etc.
