Sub-task icon and backlog missing from next-gen project

Rashid Iqbal May 2, 2019

Hi,

I just created a next-gen project. Once the project was created I don't see the backlog in the projects menu. Anyone knows why? Also after creating an issue, I don't see the icon to create sub-tasks. Anyone seen these two issues in next-gen projects?

Thanks,

Rashid

@Rashid Iqbal subtasks have just recently become available in next-gen projects. The icon is new in the issue view, to be a generic add child icon. Introducing subtasks for breaking down work in next-gen projects

For the backlog question, it's likely you started with a kanban template where the backlog is disabled by default. Under Project Settings there is a page called Features where this can be enabled/disabled at any time.

Thanks

Hi Rashid,

Next-gen projects do not support sub-tasks (see: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Subtasks-in-Next-Gen-project/qaq-p/921446)

Can you clarify what you mean when you say you're not seeing the backlog (screenshot would help)?

Hi Morgan,

Thank you for the reply. I had created kanban project instead of scrum and that's why I couldn't see backlog. All is well now. Hope sub-tasks comes soon in nextgen.

Thanks,

Rashid

Sub Tasks are now available in NextGen, but they are doing a phased rollout.

If you request to be part of the early rollout, you will get the feature sooner.

Thanks

Dwight
