Subtask should be automatically sync with story

Objective

Status of the Subtask should be in sync with the status of the Story 

Scenario 1

• If there is even one subtask under a story that is "In progress" state the parent status should automatically move to "In progress"

Scenario 2

• If all subtasks under a story get completed and marked as "Done", the parent status should automatically change to "Done"

You can use jira automation to accomplish this.

This will cover rule 2. You will have to modify the condition to make it work for rule 1.

If this is the server version then by default its not possible. You have to go with third party plugin like JSU  There you can use the Post function called Linked Transition to move the parent issue based on the subtask. Also it has other automation functionality.

You can use thus plugin on Datacenter and Cloud as well.

In DC and Cloud -  They have automation rule - You can also use that one to move issue parent issue based on child issue.
