Subtask should inherit parent status

I am trying to get the subtask to inherit the parent's status by adding a post function at transition: Create Issue. The transition have 3 post functions

1) The fiels status will take the value from status. Source issue is the parent, destination the sub-task

2) Creates the issue originally

3) Fire a issue careted event that can be processes by the listeners

but it does not work. If I try to inherit the Description field it works OK!

What's wrong?

Currently not possible yet for JIRA to perform this configuration however there is already an improvement request which being keep tracked under the following ticket:

• JRA-5225 - Sub-tasks should inherit selectable fields from the parent task

Please feel free to vote on it to increase its popularity and add yourself as watcher in order to receive any latest updates from the developer and feedback from other user that is facing the same issue.
