Hello,
new AI features are great, I am using eg. AI comments summary. But is there any way how to summarize Epic status based on Stories in Epic with AI?
Hi @Petr Křížan - welcome to the community.
If you're looking for a way to get a high-level summary of an Epic—including the status of all its child issues, identifying any blockers, and generating this information on a weekly basis—there's a Jira Marketplace app (GPT For Jira) designed to help with this use case.
The app can summarize a specific Epic (or multiple), provide the latest status of its child issues, and identify key blockers by analyzing comments and other relevant details on each issue.
Using AI (and you can bring your own AI), the app processes these issues and presents the output in a customizable format tailored to your needs. You have full control over the prompts, ensuring the results align exactly with your requirements.
full disclosure that I belong to Appbox.ai -- would be happy to converse with you on the same if this excites you.
I was able to put together a short video for your specific use case to explain this better - https://youtu.be/G017HjqjI2I

Hi @Petr Křížan and welcome to the Community!
Can you be more specific what problem you are trying to solve? A lot depends on what you mean by status here.
If you are talking about the (workflow related) status, automation rules can relatively easily help you keep your epic status in sync with its child issues. If you're talking about an indication of progress, there's built-in reports and visualisations that may be helpful. If it is more about sentiment or consolidating status comments, that's yet another scenario.

Hi @Walter Buggenhout ,
I am using Epic as some kind of folder/category for issues and I am providing weekly updates for reporters and stakeholders. So what would be useful for me is some similar functionality as summary from comments - go through the issues and based on their status and maybe last few comments in them provide overview in the epic comment.
