Hi there

Is it possible to use Jira for managing suppliers?

I am thinking a database with supplier name, number, address, contact information, etc.

Regards

Hi Rasmus,

Welcome to Community!

You might want to represent your Suppliers by Epics if you're using Jira Software. That way you can leverage the Stories as real work items and link them to a supplier with the Epic link. Remember that a story can be linked to 0 or 1 Epic which means that if you've got more than a single supplier which can be linked to another issue, you might want to leverage a traditional linktype.

As an alternative there are apps which can help, I'm a huge fan of Insight (for Asset Management) but it's not yet available in Cloud, you might look on Marketplace for CRM-like apps!

Let us know if it helps!

Cheers

So far I have been tracking our suppliers in 'Assets' for Jira Service Management, now that its available in Cloud! Great feature!

It gives exactly what you are looking for with the database, and it links nicely with our Finance and Procurement projects!

So yes, you can indeed use Jira for supplier management!
