Hi,
We have a client running Jira Server, v9.4.2 I think. We have admin rights on all a project on that server but no server rights for installs. We have internal network access to the server, but no public access to it. We would like to sync data from there into our Jira Cloud instance so that we can keep with our standard development workflow. The products I have seen, mostly, require an install on the Jira Server which is just not an option. We *can* install software on a server that can access the instance via API and have that sync the data to our Jira Cloud. Any ideas on appropriate products? I have a Backbone demo on Tuesday but am jot clear how that would be configured for our situation. It doesn't appear Exalate would work for us. Thanks.
Henry
thank you for describing your scenario. I'm part of the Backbone team and will try to help you.
I phrase it in my own words to validate that I understood you correctly.
There's still a way how you can sync issues in this scenario:
I'll let my colleague know about our discussion here so that you can keep discussing this approach in the demo appointment on Tuesday.
Cheers,
Matthias.
Ah, very good, I see. Another Jira instance that we can admin. Okay, I'll keep that on the radar.

My name is Madeleine and I am the Product Manager of Stitch It, a new Atlassian integration app. It’s a scripting tool that allows you to build complex integrations between Atlassian apps or Atlassian to third-party apps. Stitch It does not require you to install an app on your instance, you simply need to create a link between our tool and your instance via a connector and we offer connectors for both Jira Cloud and Jira On-Premise (or you can make use of our generic connector to access your instance with basic authentication if you face permission issues).
We have a few templates (pre-built solutions) that could help you get started with the use case you mentioned above:
Finally, if your on-premise instance is behind a firewall this shouldn't be a blocker as we have a way around this which you can read up about here.
If you are interested in a demo or to receive more information about our tool, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us here.
All the best,
Madeleine

Okay, thanks for the info. I don't think poking a hole in the firewall will work. While we can technically handle it, I don't think it's a feasible solution. If you have a service we can install on an internal server, then we can examine further.
