Hello everyone,
Our company currently utilizes Jira on a computer that isn't connected to the internet. This computer holds all the necessary data for Jira. However, it's become challenging for each user to access this specific computer to add issues.
I'm considering creating a Jira instance either on a cloud platform or on a server accessible to everyone. Additionally, I plan to synchronize the data from the current PC with this new setup on a weekly basis using a USB drive.
I'm seeking advice on the feasibility of this approach and any guidance on how to execute it effectively. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Hi @ali khabazian thanks for the question. Umer here from Backbone Issue Sync for Jira. The use case you've described fits perfectly with Backbone's synchronization over file exchange solution. You can learn more about how to set it up using Backbone here.
You can use Backbone to automatically copy and sync issues across the two Jira instances (both uni-directionally or bi-directionally) without leaving your own Jira. And Backbone's unique sync over file enables you to sync Jira issues even when one instance isn't connected to the internet.
For further information on what Backbone offers, please go through our landing page, documentation, or simply try out a 30-day free trial.
You can also book a demo with me in case you have more questions or need personalized advice.
Happy Collaborating,

Hi @ali khabazian ,
Thanks for posting your question here on the community.
I am Dhiren, one of the Solutions Engineers working at Exalate.
Synchronization weekly using a USB Drive might not be a good approach as it would take lots of manual and repetitive efforts.
One of the better approaches here would be to use a fully dedicated and decentralized bi-directional integration solution like Exalate.
Exalate supports the synchronization between multiple Jira instances (hosted on cloud, server,dc) and it even supports sync between public and private instances.
It offers you a script mode, for highly advanced mappings and it's fully customizable and flexible.
There is a 30 day free trial available as well.
Please let me know if you have any more questions or incase you need any more help.
Regards, Dhiren

Hi @ali khabazian, You can try using the Jira Two Way Sync app on marketplace to connect your on-premise (local) instance to Jira cloud. Here's a guide for connecting two Jira projects. And here's a guide to connecting Unito to your local Jira server.
