Syntax highlighting not working in Jira Cloud

Hi,

We just migrated from JIRA Software Server to Cloud and expected code syntax highlighting to just work. However, when I enter something like the following the input is rendered as plain text, including the code tags.

{code}
<?php
phpinfo();
{code}

According to https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/219752 I should check whether the [Autocomplete Renderer] is enabled for Comments and Description fields. It is!

What am I missing?

I don't know what the problem is that you are experiencing. But you can try the Better Code Macro for Confluence Cloud that I wrote: https://cloud-code-macro.atlassian.io/redirect/install

Thanks Robert, while that looks like a very useful macro, it's not available in JIRA Software unfortunately.
