Tagging team members using @

I can't seem to tag team members in Jira. Has anyone had issues with this before? 

I should be able to tag them if I simply type @ and their name, correct?

Hello,

You are correct. Make sure that your user has the Browse Users and Groups global permission. It can be checked only by Jira admins:
