How to create a rule in automation that duplicates task when transitioned from TO DO to Done

You need to configure automation rule like this see bellow.

Welcome to the community.

This is the rule you need:

New Trigger: Issue Transitioned

- From: To Do

- To: Done

New Action: Clone issue

If you want this on only select issue types you would add a Condition between the Trigger and the Action to check the value of the Issue Type field.

Just to ask a few clarifying questions regarding your requirements:

Once the existing task transitions to the done status it create an entirely new task that is the same as the existing though the status of the new task is "to do". Is that correct?
What is the reasoning for this?
