Dear Community,
We have the following problem:
Scenario
Project Manager would like to have a button for developers to Start/Pause/Resume/Finish work to track their time spent on a work to get an accurate picture when the developers are working on the tasks and when they are not.
For example- a task is in Work In Progress status, developer press [Start] button to commerce development for 3 hours and decided to take a break, so he/she pressed [Pause] button, JIRA have worklog 3 hours recorded, then Developer press [Resume] button to continue working on the task.
Problem
After digging around on Google searches, I can't find any solutions or workaround that can cater for this scenario. The Time tracking requires developer to manually key in time spent on task which is tedious as developer might lost track of time.
I have not used this solution but am aware so sharing - tMetric
basically it is a time logging app outside of Jira but apparently the logged time can be synchronized with Jira and the integration places a button on your detailed issue view.
worth a look.
Thanks Jack for the suggestion, but using an external application means that everyone on the same project must have this installed too in order to view the time spent on a task.
I was looking for something within the JIRA itself.

Hello :) You can try Planyway, it has a timer (here's the link to the help article to learn more). It's in-app and quite simple to use.
I'm part of the Planyway team, but I would recommend Planyway even if I wasn't! And in case you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
P.S. We're open to any feedback (good or bad, suggestions or concerns), let us know what you think if you try Planyway.
