Team member icons on Active sprint board that are not working in the team

I see several extra team members in the Active sprint board who are not working on the sprint.  They are not even working on any ticket of the scrumboard or backlog. 

Why do they appear on the board  ? 

How can I remove them ?

you can use quick filters it might help you to categorize attached the screenshot below.
