Hi everyone. How do I get reports/filters where I have a view of the time spent broken into team members and specific jira tasks/stories (some of which aren't assigned to them). The best I can do right now is 'worklogauthor = xx' in the filter, and it gives me a list of tasks that user has logged time against in my time range, but what it fails to show me is the number of hours spent per task on a daily basis by the user. It just shows the total time logged against that task, regardless of who has logged it.
I would ideally like to have something that I don't need to install a plug in for, but if thats the only option, pls suggest the plugins that have this capability (ideally free).
Thanks
Archana hi,
If you're open to using a plugin, I’d recommend checking out TMetric - it’s a time tracking solution available on the Atlassian Marketplace. With TMetric, you can:
It’s easy to install and seamlessly integrates with Jira. Let me know if you have any questions!
Hope this helps.
Hey there!
ActivityTimeline could be a great fit for this. It allows you to generate reports that break down time tracking by individual team members, showing the time spent per task and giving you a daily view of their logged hours. You can filter the reports by various criteria, and it will show you not just the total time, but how much time was logged each day.
You can view the time entries by user, project, and even sub-tasks. Use pre-created templates or the 'Custom' tab in the left panel to group data by any Jira custom field:
Here's a link to Help Center, where you can find a tutorial on AT timesheets. If you'd like to learn more about how ActivityTimeline can help with this, feel free to request a quick demo call with our support managers. Hope this helps!

Hi @Archana
You might consider using eazyBI to create customizable reports (and charts) to calculate time spent in worklogs by worklog authors.
Please find below the sample of how the timesheet looks like:
It is currently not filtered by "Time" but you could create custom periods for "Time" dimension and filter the report for "Current week", "Previous week", "This year", "Last 4 weeks" etc.
It calculates the time spent (in hours) by worklog authors.
And you can filter the report by project, issue type, and many other Jira standard fields, including the Jira user groups where users belong to when they log work.
If you have any questions, you can contact us.

Hi @Archana ,
Timesheet view is the one of the best way to show the number of hours spent per issue on a daily basis by the user. I can recommend WorklogPRO for creating a customizable timesheet report. Thanks to WorklogPRO's hierarchical grouping feature, you can group worklogs by users (worklog authors) and projects, and display the total time spent on each issue in the corresponding column, with the daily time spent shown in the relevant date cell.

Hi @Archana
If you are looking for an easy and intuitive way of tracking the time spent on tasks by your team members, then I would like to suggest our app called "Worklogs - Time Tracking and Time Reports".
Worklogs allows to easily view and filter reports consisting of time logged to issues, across multiple users, projects and more.
Worklogs is easy to use and versatile, allowing to create flexible time reports and filter them in a granular manner, making it a great choice both for Jira newcomers and long-time users.
It is also worth adding that if the time was previously logged into issue through Jira, then these logs should be already visible in Worklogs, as it makes use of Jira's native time tracking features.
You can book a demo with one of our experts and we will showcase the app and answer any questions you might have, or you can contact us through the portal here. Of course, you can also ask a question by replying to this response! :)
Best regards,

Are you open to explore the REST APIs? if so, you can download the data and then do the required analytics yourself.
Writing the code is one time effort, however, it enables you to have data in your hand

Hello @Archana
You're right,Jira’s built-in filters and reports don’t provide a breakdown of logged work per user daily for each task. Here are two ways you can achieve this:
Since you're looking for a solution without plugins, one option is to export Jira worklogs to Excel and use Pivot Tables to structure the data as needed
I understand that you are not looking for plugin but If you're open to using an app, Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira developed by my team at OBSS provides the solution with its Assignee Report:
Here is the sample of Assignee reports
If you'd like to explore this solution further, feel free to check out Timepiece on the Atlassian Marketplace. 🚀
Hope it helps,
Ayça

Hi @Archana, Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
For detailed time-tracking reports and clear, actionable insights from your time-tracking data, I'd check out 7pace Timetracker for Jira. It's incredibly easy to get started with, and time tracking on issues is already built right into your workflows once the app is installed - so there are no new processes to jump through for time tracking.
There are additional ways to track time in Jira with 7pace, such as using weekly or monthly calendar views if your team is more visual or a traditional timesheet. The bonus of having various ways to track time is that individuals are more likely to do it consistently, so you have the best data possible.
To answer your question about getting a report to see time spent by team members and specific Jira tasks/stories (even for tasks not assigned to an individual), we can help!
I've included an example below, but 7pace makes it easy to filter and group any of your time-tracking data and visualize who worked on what over any timeframe. If you'd like more information, please let me know, and we can set up a demo! Thanks!

Hi @Archana
Welcome to the community!
You might consider using time-tracking apps that in most cases have a customizable report of tracked time on issues.
I can recommend our Clockwork Automated Time Tracking & Timesheets Pro or Lite app, which allows you to track time for individual users across the projects, and this data using timesheets and create reports that can be configured in various ways using break-down and filtering options.
Using timesheets, you can create a report and filter it based on several options including, projects, issue types, issues labels, or other fields. You can choose a range for a whole year and break down the data by chosen fields. This information can be also exported to Excel files.
Please find below the sample of how the timesheet looks like:
