Hi Everyone,
My name is Gabby, I am a researcher here at Atlassian. I am currently working with the brand team to understand what associations our customers (you) have with Jira.
Today I am reaching out because I need your help with an activity that will get your creative juices flowing. We want to know:
Imagine Jira came to life and was a person, what kind of person would they be?
For the first 50 responses (over 50 words) we will donate $5 to charity. You can specify which of the charities listed below you would like to donate to or we will select randomly. Atlassian will be matching the donations as part of our foundation so each response will be worth $10 overall.
a. Support Flood Relief in Australia
b. Help People Fleeing Ukraine Seek Shelter and Safety
c. Help refugees facing a humanitarian crisis in Yemen
Really looking forward to reading your comments and appreciate your time!
Thanks, Gabby
UPDATE:
Thanks to everyone who submitted comments - we have made the charity donations! If you want to add a response please do but know that we won't be making any further donations at this time.

Jira rises from the ocean, steam spilling out of his nostrils, hinting at the fire within his belly. As he opens his mouth, a mighty roaring flame emerges, and the sound, the horrible, hideous sound.
(Go)Jira: NO MOAAARRRRR BUGGGGGGSSSS!!!!!!
A fleet of tiny boats, each with teams of developers, designers, program managers, and the unfortunate system manager, get tossed about in the ocean like a top-loading washing machine half-full of socks. The crews tremble in fear.
(Go)Jira: CLEAAAAR YOUUUUUUR BACKLOGGGGGGG!!!!
The teams abandon all hope, jumping into the water with lifevests, and praying for the best.
(It must be late. :-)

Imagine Jira came to live and was a person, what kind of person would [it] be?
Jira would be an attractive middle-aged person who is fighting the battle between re-inventing self by building new skills, while desperately trying to hide the baggage from past relationships. While the new skills and abilities are attractive and are certainly getting this person noticed, digging deep into what Jira is will inevitably reveal the demons/skeletons in the closet. How can this be fixed? Jira should see a certified professional who can help clear out the backlog!
While there are plenty of us who are trying to work with who Jira wants to be, it's not uncommon to be bitten by the baggage Jira is carrying.
Option B, please. Stand with Ukraine!

Jira's an absent-minded professor. Just when you've finally convinced yourself they're not listening to you as they fiddle away on a crystal radio, they startle you with some deep insightful comment which strikes to the heart of your problem based on an innocuous comment you made a month ago.
Of course, they also keep putting their eye glasses in the fridge and refusing to learn to get groceries for themselves ;)

First, I have to say that Darryl Lee’s version of Jira is the absolute best! ♫Up from the depths, 30 stories high, he stands in the sky, GOJIRA! ♫
In my mind, Jira is an AI. Not a robot AI R2D2 and C3PO from Star Wars, but a more “human” AI like David from the movie “Artificial Intelligence: AI”. Data from Star Trek is close, but still a little too robot. There was a movie in 1999, “Bicentennial Man” starring Robin Williams as Andrew, an android bought by a family who became more human over the decades as he learned things.
I think of Jira in this fashion, an AI who as she learns things, becomes more human. Her job is helping us streamline and finding solutions to working smarter together. She provides data and reports which we then interpret. As a work partner, she is invaluable. And if she were a person, she would definitely be the one heading up the team get-togethers, setting up team lunches, and making sure that we were all always communicating.

Oh my... ok :-)

It would probably be like any other 20 yo - full of ideas but also full of things it does not want to do (and don't know it will eventually have to do them anyway because that's how it is in life). Most of the time you are on positive vibes with it but sometimes you get in fight yelling at each other about stupid stuff. It gets its own reasoning and sometimes it hates and sometimes it loves its parents. Sometimes I have the feeling it even have plans to run from home and starts its own life somewhere else but in the end you make it work somehow and you stay friends.

I LOVE this question @Gabrielle Allfrey!
Imagine Jira came to life and was a person, what kind of person would they be?
In my mind, Jira would be that person you know who seems to be good at everything! They work for a technology company, but they were multiple hats during the work day.
Outside of work, they are the go to person if you need help working on your car, your computer or your garden. You aren't exactly sure how they became so knowledgeable at everything, but they always have a story to tell about a situation that required them to learn that skillset to some degree.
Jira is very well know both at the office and in social circles. They are seen as very approachable and friendly, but if you spend the time to get to know them, you will discover they have a very deep and complex personality.

I could keep going but I think you get the idea and I'm pretty sure that's over 50 words ;)

JIRA really is like the giant monster, always changing, being worked on. Everyone seems to know about it, even if they don't use it.
There are all these little side monsters, Confluence is definitely a Mothra, that come together to form a whole package in itself.
You have other movie monsters/products out there, that are doing their thing, not even necessarily competing, but once you're on board with JIRA, and the same goest with some of the other products, you almost automatically on board with everything else.
Option C, if you're still doing it.

A person who allow dinner finished (sprint closed) if everything in plate either finished or moved to others plate.
A person who changes color (issue time) or move to other kind or species (change issue type kr project itself) if almighty want to make this done 😊

In my view, Jira plays the lead character in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" , where with each Jira update, the character becomes younger with the fresh UX updates & ease of use.
btw is Jira a Male or Female character @Gabrielle Allfrey 😀? Jira with her dashing looks stands to gain more followers day by day 😎

Jira would be that project manager with the binder full of color-coded tabs. I'd want to go out on coffee breaks with Jira so I could know what our teams are working on. Jira would hang out with our engineers and service desk staff.
Jira probably would work late nights, and we would have to talk about their work/life balance. 😉

If Jira came to life and was a person, they would be an innovator, and entrepreneur, someone in love with technology who works hard to solve complex challenges and to make this a better world. They would be a philanthropist, finding good causes to support, and putting people first, promoting events and amplifying the voice of others. They would be an inclusive leader, enabling, empowering and energizing those around them.
