Hello,
I would like to ask you about the time-tracking overview that is for each task provided by Tempo.
When the issue is created, we usually add an estimated time (which shouldn't be changed), and then each user is logging time into it. We don't touch remaining time and we would like to see the calculation of remaining time in this Tempo overview:
For now, it isn't working and I don't know why. Obviously, there should be 59 hours remaining.
Do you know how to fix this?
Thank you and have a great day.
Was there answer from tempo about this issue?
In our case, there is time added to the remaining, but maybe it is something we configured wrong. Can someone help?
Hi, @Joana Rocha. There is a response from the Tempo team just below this post. However, as you say, there may be a configuration issue in your case.
It may be more expedient for you to contact the Tempo support team so they can take a closer look at your configuration. It's hard to "dig in" that way here on the community.
Best,
-dave

Hi @Michal Bergmann
The information for Estimated, Remaining and Logged is native to JIRA.
Tempo retrieves this information from JIRA and displays it in the Time tracking panel.
All calculations for these values are done within JIRA.

@Susanne Götz _Tempo_ Thank you for your answer.
How can I make JIRA to calculate remaining time from estimate time and logged time? (estimate time minus logged time = remaining time).

Hi @Michal Bergmann
The calculation of the remaining estimate should happen automatically.
When logging time in Tempo, the worklog information is sent to JIRA. Jira then does the calculation for the remaining estimate.
Best regards,
Susanne

Hi @Michal Bergmann
It might be good to create a ticket with Atlassian (support.atlassian.com)

Hi, I signed up for Temp a year or two ago and experienced this same issue and was told that it's not possible to display the remaining time.
For example, a developer's calendar would look like they had 12 hours (the original estimate) of work assigned to them on a Monday though they worked on the same task in a previous week. This made it impossible to properly resource plan as Tempo wasn't subtracting their work logs.
Further, I got onto a Webinar recently and asked the question and your support said that factoring in work logs or the actual remaining time wasn't possible. Are you saying that this isn't the case and something was wrong with our Jira?

Hey @Michal Bergmann - I might recommend reaching out to the Tempo team directly to get an answer. I would link to their Atlassian Marketplace listing but getting an error...
Are you tracking this information for estimated time to completion for a project or are you looking for something else?

@Dan -minware- Thank you for your answer.
I will try to reach them.
Exactly, we want to know how much time is available for a project (issue).
