Dear All,

One of our customers is looking to migrate their 10,000 user Jira instance to Atlassian cloud. In order to ensure that all necessary quality checks are in place and agreed upon, they have requested a test plan for the migration project. Have any templates or pointers been prepared for a cloud migration project in the past? If so, we would appreciate it if you could share them with us to assist in drafting the plan. It doesn't need to be as exhaustive as a conventional software development project.

Best Regards

Abhishek

Hello,

You can download Insight Assets Cloud Migration Assistant for the server, install Insight Assets Backup & Migration for the cloud, and begin the migration if you'd want to move Assets from the server to the cloud instance.

See the article below: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Service-Management/How-can-Assets-be-migrated-from-Jira-Data-Center-to-Cloud-or/td-p/2382324

Please get in touch with us using our service desk.

Regards,
Nino

Review the assets at https://www.atlassian.com/migration

TBH though it depends far more on the complexity of their instance - within those 10,000 users how many projects, issues, schemes, plugins/apps etc. Normally an instance that size is fairly horrible for migration if it's existed for any length of time (again, normally yes for that size), particularly as all sorts of fun customisations are likely to have crept in.
