The assignable person is not directly editable on the cards

Javier Moreno Molina January 17, 2024

In some projects we could just change the assignee on a card by clicking on the small avatar that is shown in it. However in our new project the avatar does not show a list to change the assignee. Instead, the side-panel with the detailed view is shown, as if you click anywhere else in the card. How can we configure the first behavior in the cards?

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

My guess is that your new project is of a different type to the old one.  I suspect the new one is a company-managed project, and the old a team-managed one.  These work very differently when editing.

It may also be a different type of board you are using.

The new one is a company-managed project with a scrum board. Is it not possible to changed the assigned person by clicking on the avatar? I see that in the backlog view I can do that, but not in the active sprint board.

Hello @Javier Moreno Molina ,

Welcome to the Atlassian community!

Have you checked if the person that needs to be assigned has the "Assignable User" permission for the project?

BR,

Nikola

It is assignable. Actually I can assign persons by clicking the Avatar on the Backlog view on the same board, but not on the Active Sprint view.
