Hello members,
I accidentally changed multiple Epics, which was linked to many stories, bugs and Task. This un-linked all of the Issues.
Is there any way to restore the Epic Link to all of the Issues that previously had them?
You can try the Bulk Revert option released with Issue History for Jira app developed by my team. It allows you to select fields and issues that were changed (like unlinked tasks) and roll back changes.
Documentation: https://saasjet.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/IH/pages/3308388494/Revert+bulk+changes+in+Jira
Can you check the issue history to find which Epic was linked to this issue in the past? You can then relink the issue accordingly.
Let me know if you have any doubts.

Geethanjali

@Geethanjali Katagani - Thanks for quick response. Yes, i can see from the issue history the unlinked epic number. However, i have 7000+ tickets that i have to rollback. I can relink them manually one by one but it will cost me too much time. Is there any quick way to do this?

If there is a field condition available to identify a group of issues that had the same Epic link in the past, you can use that condition to filter those issues.
Once filtered, you can use the Bulk Edit option to relink them to the Epic.

@Geethanjali Katagani - I checked and unfortunately could not find any field identifier that had same epic link in past.

I need a few details:
Are you using a Cloud or Data Center environment?
How did you unlink the Epic? Did you unlink all 7,000+ issues at once, or was it done group by group?

@Geethanjali Katagani - Thank for responding.
1. Using cloud - Standard subscription
2. I created a new Issue type (EPIC) but did not see that i placed it on '0' level on issue hierarchy. When i switched the new issue type with default JIRA Epic issue type, everything linked under default Epic issue type was delinked in one go!
