Time Tracking by Date Question

Mathew Silverman January 14, 2019

I have enabled  time tracking in my Jira Cloud solution and have recently added the Time Reports add-on.  The problem I am having is there is no way for the user to set when they worked on an issue.  For example, one user logged 20 hours of time today against a task.  Obviously, that was not all worked today.  Is there a setting or add-on that will allow a user to enter time worked against an issue by day the work was completed?

I figured it out.  Changing the "Date Started" field will log the hours to the appropriate day.

Hi Mathew,

If one would log 2d 4h, instead of just 20h, using Time Reports Log Work, instead of Jira native Log Work dialog, then time will be split back by days starting from today.

Thank you.

While that would solve this specific issue (assuming the resource worked the issue the preceding two days), I am trying to ensure I know the hours each day a user worked on a ticket.
