Hi,
I am seeing a custom field type "Time In Status" when we are creating a custom field.
The default searcher for this field type is Text.
I want to know the use of this custom field type.
Please help me in this regard.

It is used in the JIRA charting plugin to display the average time in status of an issue. Have a look at https://studio.plugins.atlassian.com/wiki/display/JCHART/JIRA+Charting+Plugin

Thanks, but why is it visible in the type of Custom fields when we are creating a new custom field. That means it should be possible to get the average time in status for the desired status in the project of our interest.

Check out the installation details. You need to create the custom field first to get that detail.

Installation details say re-index after creating a custom field so trying that. :-)

I'm looking at a Jira instance right now, where a field of this type is named "TIme in Status" (not the capital "I"). Does it matter for the functioning of the plugin(s)?
Thanks!
