Time in Status is basically, the amount of time an issue spends in each status of the workflow.
With the help of these reports, you can identify the issues which are taking more time by tracking their time spent in each status and time spent with each assignee, and take appropriate actions. This in turn will help track your bottleneck Issues & Processes and improve on them
We have built an app for the same use case. If you are open to try it out take a look at
The app has 20+ reports to meet a variety of use cases.

Hello @Deepika Dandala ,
In Jira, Time in Status reports are not available as an out-of-the-box feature. I can suggest our app Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira by OBSS if you want to get such reports. It is available for Jira Server, Cloud, and Data Center.
Time in Status mainly allows you to see how much time each issue spent on each status or each assignee.
For example, for Status Duration reports, Time in Status app processes the issue history and calculates the time each issue was on each status. If an issue visits a status multiple times, it shows the total time. The report will show issues in rows with status names in columns and the total time each issue spent on each status as report values. (Her you can combine the time for multiple statuses to get metrics like Issue Age, Cycle Time, Lead Time, Resolution Time etc. )
Similarly, for Assignee Duration reports, Time in Status app processes the issue history and calculates the time each issue was assigned to each user. The report will show issues in rows with user names in columns and the total time each issue was assigned to each user as report values.
For all numeric report types, you can calculate averages and sums of those durations grouped by the issue fields you select. For example total in-progress time per customer or average resolution time per sprint, week, month, issuetype, request type, etc. The ability to group by parts of dates (year, month, week, day, hour) or sprints is particularly useful here since it allows you to compare different time periods or see the trend.
The app calculates its reports using already existing Jira issue histories so when you install the app, you don't need to add anything to your issue workflows and you can get reports on your past issues as well. It supports both Company Managed and Team Managed projects for Jira Cloud.
Time in Status reports can be accessed through its own reporting page, dashboard gadgets, and issue view screen tabs. All these options can provide both calculated data tables and charts.
