Hi,
We are studying the implementation of several tools from the Atlassian suite in our company. We would like to estimate the administration time that this will require of our teams annually for about 500 users. This for two types of installation in Cloud mode or in Datacenter mode.
Ideally, we would like to have this detailed working time by module that interests us:
-Jira Software
-Jira Work Management
-Jira Confluence
-Tempo
-Zephyr
Thanks,
Yohan NEGRIE
Estimating the administration time for Atlassian tools can vary depending on various factors such as the complexity of your organization's workflows, customizations, integrations, and user requirements. However, I can provide you with a general guideline to help estimate the administration time for each module you mentioned: Jira Software, Jira Work Management, Jira Confluence, Tempo, and Zephyr.
1. Jira Software:
Jira Software is a powerful project management tool that requires ongoing administration. The administration tasks may include managing projects, creating and configuring issue types, workflows, permissions, and managing users and groups. Additionally, you might need to perform regular maintenance tasks like backups, upgrades, and plugin management.
For 500 users, you can estimate an annual administration time of approximately 100-150 hours for Jira Software, considering initial setup, configuration, ongoing maintenance, and support.
2. Jira Work Management:
Jira Work Management (formerly known as Jira Core) focuses on task and process management for business teams. The administration tasks for Jira Work Management are similar to Jira Software, including project management, workflow configuration, permission management, and user/group administration.
For Jira Work Management, you can estimate a similar annual administration time of around 100-150 hours for 500 users.
3. Jira Confluence:
Confluence is a collaboration and documentation platform. Administration tasks for Confluence involve managing spaces, permissions, templates, macros, and plugins. You may also need to handle content organization, versioning, and backups.
For Confluence, you can estimate an annual administration time of approximately 50-100 hours for 500 users.
4. Tempo:
Tempo is a popular time tracking and resource planning add-on for Jira. Administration tasks for Tempo include setting up worklogs, configuring billing rates, managing teams and permissions, generating reports, and integrating with other systems if required.
For Tempo, you can estimate an annual administration time of around 50-100 hours for 500 users, depending on the level of customization and reporting requirements.
5. Zephyr:
Zephyr is a test management tool integrated with Jira. Administration tasks for Zephyr involve creating and managing test cycles, test plans, test cases, and executing tests. You may also need to configure custom fields, permissions, and integrations with other testing tools.
For Zephyr, you can estimate an annual administration time of approximately 50-100 hours for 500 users, considering the complexity of your testing processes and the number of test cases.
Please note that these estimates are rough guidelines and can vary based on your specific requirements and the level of customization needed. It's recommended to involve your teams responsible for administering these tools in the estimation process to get a more accurate assessment based on your organization's unique needs.
Thank you for this very quick response.
