Top Level Multi Project Display

Keith Rowley April 20, 2022

Hi Guys. New to this system s pardon any evident naivety please. I need to have one top-line progress/schedule line for each project in Gantt style. Thus I could show 'all projects' and get a visual of what's on time and what's not. Each project can then be clicked for drill-down.  We have just installed Products Visibility By User Roles as a trial.

Is this possible please and could someone point this newbie in the right direction?

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

Keith

Welcome to the community, @Keith Rowley. I am not personally familiar with Products Visibility By User Roles but I'm not sure that going to give you what you are looking for.

You may want to look for a full-featured Gantt solution instead. There are a number of them available and the best ones give you the ability to create Gantt charts the are comprised of Jira issues from one or more projects.

You can use an Atlassian Marketplace search such as:

https://marketplace.atlassian.com/addons/app/jira/top-rated?hosting=cloud&moreFilters=cloudFortified&query=%22Gantt%20Chart%22

Atlassian Product: Jira
Top Rated: based on customer reviews
Hosting = Cloud
Cloud Fortified = follows Atlassian security guidelines for cloud products
Query = "Gantt Chart"

Full disclosure: I work for a company that is affiliated with one of the products in the search results.

In addition, you could upgrade your Jira Cloud subscription to the Premium level.  Jira Cloud Premium comes with Advance Roadmaps (and Atlassian extension for Jira) that offers "Gantt like" capabilities.  Typically, the marketplace apps are more cost-effective, but that depends on many factors (your mileage may vary, etc.).

Hope this helps!

Hi @Keith Rowley

Welcome to a community!

As an alternative, you can look at the ActivityTimeline plugin. There are lines with progress/schedule lines for each user/team. Project Planning for Jira.png

You can visualize your workflow on a timeline that helps to coordinate tasks. You'll be provided with planning modules with Personal and Team Timelines. The workload and availability indicator will give you a clear vision of the available capacity of each Jira resource. Vacation/day-off, bookings, and placeholders are also available in the add-on.
The additional modules provide numerous reports including timesheets reports.

If this solution may interest you, we can provide a demo session for you if needed.
Best, Nataliya

Hi @Keith Rowley

BigGantt, one of the apps from @Dave Rosenlund _Trundl_ link, seems to be a good match.
It covers all levels of management, from project schedules to portfolio timelines and product roadmaps, and what is the most important is also a great tracking tool. BigGantt allows you to visualize high-level project data in the form of a hierarchical tree or a neat timeline and track key project indicators at a project, PI/Sprint, or task level.
