Hey guys,
I'm going through the following situation:
I have a project that goes through a workflow with 5 phases, and I need to track the time for each phase. This time is recorded in the Jira card's history.
Therefore, I need to extract the time data for each phase from the history to Google Sheets using =Jira().
Is this possible? What are the arguments? Could you provide some examples of the formula?
Thank you very much.
Hi @Pedro_dantas 👋
Welcome to the community!
Jira does not come with this feature pre-built.
So i recommend you to try Time in Status for Jira Cloud add-on which allows you to track the time that tasks spend in each status on your board. By creating a custom field, you can easily view this information directly on the card.
How to View Custom Fields on Your Jira Board?
These steps assume that you have already set up the custom field in Jira and associated it with the board screen.
also you will see this on your Jira card layout.
Add-on have a 30-day free trial version and free up to 10 users.
Please, let me know if you have any questions
Hope it helps 😌

Hey @Pedro_dantas
Good day!
Unfortunately, there's no straightforward built-in =JIRA() function in Google Sheets that can pull information directly from JIRA. However, you can extract data from JIRA and import it into Google Sheets through CSV and then filter through.
To track time spent in each status, you'll need to have a JIRA plugin that tracks time in status, as JIRA doesn't provide this data by default. There are several plugins available that can do this, such as Time in Status for JIRA Cloud, Status Time, etc.
I found this post related to apps and Integrations which will be useful for your requirement.

Hello @Pedro_dantas
Our team at OBSS built Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira exactly for this. It is available for Jira Server, Cloud, and Data Center.
Time in Status mainly allows you to see how much time each issue spent on each status or each assignee.
You can combine the time for multiple statuses to get metrics like Issue Age, Cycle Time, Lead Time, Resolution Time etc. In your case, you can combine statuses to reflect phases of your issues.
For all numeric report types, you can calculate averages and sums of those durations grouped by the issue fields you select. For example total in-progress time per customer or average resolution time per sprint, week, month, issuetype, request type, etc. The ability to group by parts of dates (year, month, week, day, hour) or sprints is particularly useful here since it allows you to compare different time periods or see the trend.
Time in Status has Google Sheets and Excel template files that can pull app report data directly into your spreadsheet.
The app calculates its reports using already existing Jira issue histories so when you install the app, you don't need to add anything to your issue workflows and you can get reports on your past issues as well. It supports both Company Managed and Team Managed projects for Jira Cloud.
Time in Status reports can be accessed through its own reporting page, dashboard gadgets, and issue view screen tabs. All these options can provide both calculated data tables and charts.

For extracting Time in status, a mktplace app can help you to get this data. If you are fine with that, you can try out our add-on
I believe, the below report will help meet the use case.
