Please assist ASAP.

Thanks!

Ok, it's not a "category" in JIRA-speak, because project categories are a user-definable way of grouping projects together, and you can group Business, Service Desk and Agile projects together in a category.

It is clear what you mean though - when creating a project, you get offered a number of templates, and these are grouped by the application that provides them - JIRA Core gives you business projects, Service Desk gives you service desk ones, and Software gives you Agile/Software ones.

Your question could be read two ways though.

  1.  You go to the project list and all it offers you is "business".  This is right, if you don't have any Software or Service Desk projects.  It hides the project type if there are no projects of that type.
  2. You're trying to create Software type projects, but clicking create only offers you "business" type projects.  That would mean that either another admin has disabled the templates, or that the Software application is simply not active in your system - not installed, installed but disabled or installed but not licenced.

Go to manage applications and check that it's installed, enabled and licenced.  Another quicker check though - do you have "boards" in your menu?

First screenshot says what the problem is - you have not got the Software application installed.  Go to "manage applications" and add it.
