Unable to access Jira software due to forgotten login details - please assist on retrieving or resetting login details.
When i click 'can't access your account?' it takes me to a Jira access problem page which shows 'Preparing to start Jira'. This page also states that i need to fix memory allocation pool settings or ignore to continue. And when i click continue it takes me back to log into account.
Ideally, a link to reset login details should be sent to my email when i click cant access account.
Thanks
It is possible that you have Jira setup without a configured SMTP server, that you can't reset a user account's password this way. Or that if you have connected Jira to an external directory, such as LDAP, it may not be possible for Jira to reset this account's password via the email reset anyway.
If you need to recover an admin level credentials to be able to login to Jira, please follow the steps in Retrieving the JIRA Administrator.
Please add the following URL to your base URL (eg. https://www.yourcompany.com/secure/ForgotLoginDetails.jspa or https://www.yourcompany.com/jira/secure/ForgotLoginDetails.jspa
This should take you to the password reset page, there must be some misconfiguration in your instance, it could be multiple factors, bad base URL, bad proxy settings, security parameters in place, etc.
If you cannot open the page or you have other issues, then the only way to recover your password will be modifying it via database, let me know if you can recover via email, if not I can give you the steps to recover via database.
