Unable to assign a sub-task issue type to a project

PF September 14, 2018

I am unable to assign a sub-task issue type to a project. The sub-task issue type is assigned to my Issue Type scheme, but does not show up as an available option/drop down when creating an issue within a project. Any thoughts, what am missing?

Hi @PF,

Sub-tasks issue type are not visible in the 'normal' create issue drop-down, as sub-task can only be created from an issue within Jira.

To create a sub-task:

  • Navigate to the issue you would like to be the parent issue of the sub-task you are about to create.
  • Select More > Create Sub-Task. You will see the Create Subtask screen.
  • Fill in the details as needed, and then click Create at the bottom of the page.

Does this help, do you see the sub-tasks when going to the steps above?

Kind regards,
Stefan
