Unable to connect Gmail IMAP server to JIRA for auto-issue creation

I get the above error, when I try to connect with my GMAIL IMAP server from JIRA.

I want to auto-create JIRA issues for emails sent to a particular email Id.

Hi Rachita,

Do you have two step verification on for that account?

There is an article titled Unable to connect to the mail server due to Google 2-Step Verification that may help:

Cause

Google 2-Step Verification has been setup into the mail

Workaround

• Disable the 2FA verification, OR
• Generate an app password for JIRA, so that JIRA could pass the 2FA verification. Sign in using App Password
