Hey guys!
Having a problem with github integration.
Installation goes smooth, but when I click 'Get Started' the page tries to load github stuff but then shows this ambigious error:
I tried digging a little into networking activity and found request that fails with 403
What has been already tried:
- Permissions checked, and granted org adming and jira product admin
- Reinstalling application
- Installing from github side (ends up with same 403 error)
What could be the case and what I might've missed?
Hi,
This is Majid @ Exalate.
What tool are you trying to install? Have you got any access to the logging? The error message seems to be clear enough i.e. you need to be full admin on Jira to get it working. But as you say you already seem to have it. A bit lost without further details.
Let me know if you want further information and I would be happy to assist.
Thanks
Majid
Hi Majid!
Thanks for texting back :D
So the tool is "Github for Jira" (to track branches and repos).
I have full org_admin permission and jira admin too. Here's the list of all groups i've assigned
But still the request to github.atlassian.com/jira fails with 403 No Administer permission, even though Permission Helper shows that I have administer permission:
I've also managed to contact Atlassian support, so hopefully they can shine a little bit of light on why it's happening :)
Thank you!

That is a bit weird. I will follow the thread to see what the resolution is provided by Atlassian.
Thanks

A support ticket was opened for this.
Took access to the site and provided my account with the same privileges and permissions as Artem.
Logged in and access the GitHub for JIRA from "Apps" > "Manage your Apps" > Expand "GitHub for JIRA" from the list of apps > Click "Configure".
I was able to view the Github for JIRA configuration page and "Connect to GitHub Organization" button.
The permissions were fine with Artem's account as well. The initial attempt was probably made immediately after the app was installed and there was some delay in the app config to load which could have caused the error.
In the next attempt Artem tried launching https://<atlassiansitename>.atlassian.net/plugins/servlet/ac/com.github.integration.production/github-post-install-page and the page loaded successfully.
