I am unable to make a Kanban backlog.
When I go to board settings > Columns I am trying to drag the 'Backlog' column to the 'Kanban backlog' column, onto the landing zone where it reads "Drag a status here to enable". When I release the mouse after a drag the 'Backlog' column returns to it's original position and I do not have a Backlog menu item created.
What am I doing wrong? How can I create a backlog please?
Thank you
Chris
After a few hours of using this new Kanban project a message popped up suggesting that I could create a Backlog, so I clicked the link in the message and the Backlog has now appeared.
If anyone else finds this by googling, you need to move the status from "unmapped" to backlog first. That is, if the status is already mapped - press the delete button to unmap it!

I am using Simplified Workflow and the Column Constraint = none. Hope that helps.

Hi @Chris Taylor , welcome to the community,
There might be other reasons but what I can think of top of my head is that the workflow in the backend (JIRA) could be causing such issue.
Going in detail, there might be issue as Backlog status and kanban backlog coloumn mightnot be working correctly in your board.
If possible, please provide more details with some screengrabs for members to be able to answer your question.
