I want to install Active directory but
1) I can't see AD directory option in custom field as we use JIRA cloud
2) We dont use MS Azure , so can't install Active directory via "Azure AD attirbute plugin"
3) Went to User Settings > Management > but unable to see "User Directory" option ( screenshot above )
I am the admin of JIRA ( highest access ) but can't see User directory option as well.
Can you please help me to integrate AD with JIRA, Thanks
Jira Cloud does not do user directories internally, it is all handled at a site level in your overall site.
Your site supports only three types of directory - Atlassian Accounts, Google Accounts and Atlassian Access.
Two of those are flat account systems, but Atlassian Access can also draw from other places, including external Active Directory systems.
So, to use Active Directory in your Jira, you'll need to get Atlassian Access, and tell it to use your Active Directory.
Thanks @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- for short and crisp revert.
Appreciate your pro-activeness :) Thankyou once again.

Hey @Mohd Hassan
Not sure what type of "User Directory" you are hoping to see in Jira Cloud? Just like the same option that was in Jira server/DC ? If that is the case then that type of option is not there to integrate AD's to Jira cloud directly.
To make you understand better, In Jira Cloud there isn't a straight forward way to connect AD directly. We have to make use of a solution Atlassian Access.
With Atlassian Access a SAML SSO can be established with supported Identity providers for logging into Cloud Jira. So this is bit different when compared to LDAP Protocol where one can connect to AD's directly and then authentication happens.
Let me know in case of questions.

Vishwas

Hello @Vishwas
Thank you so much for the reply.
Yes, I am looking for a "user directory" option in cloud version which I cant see ( even from ORG admin access )
But since you clarified it will not be visible on cloud version, as it is visible on server/ DC version ( screenshot below from google )
I want to integrate AD with my JIRA cloud.
Can you please assist next action items, thanks for your help in advance.

When you mention AD, what AD is that ? MS AD ?
As mentioned in the above, we cannot achieve direct AD integration with Jira Cloud.
We have to go with SAML SSO integration with Jira Cloud Atlassian Access.
Please check this link to understand better https://support.atlassian.com/security-and-access-policies/docs/understand-atlassian-access/
I would like to add a point here, this SAML SSO will not be same as the native authentication method.

Hi @Mohd Hassan
As others have already mentioned, user directory synchronization is different on Jira Cloud than on Jira DC/Server. According to my best knowledge, you will indeed need to use Atlassian Access to connect your user directory to Cloud.
When it comes to Deviniti products, those can help you in the process: I can recommend Active Directory Attributes Sync if you use Jira DC and Active Directory or Azure AD Attributes if you use Cloud. Both products synchronize user properties (such as phone numbers, office addresses, departments or managers) and display them in Jira.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions!
Cheers,
Oliwia
