Unauthorized/Unpermissioned User just took control over a pending Sprint. How???

Scott Nelson January 17, 2019

We had an user change the name of a sprint in one project (in which they do not have permissions) to match one of the sprints in their project - now they own our sprint.

How did this happen, and how do we prevent it in the future?

@Scott Nelsonthe following link will be helpful to understand schemes in JIRA.

Don't hesitate to ask any question if you feel confused

I will need to check to see if that user was added to a user group which may have made this possible.

How do I rundown scheme changes?  Where would I see it if this occurred?

@Scott Nelson

JIRA is very tricky when it comes to permissions. A slight change may affect several projects.

Please check the following:

  • If user is in group that has permission to manage sprints
  • If user is a board admin
  • If there was a change in schemes

Please keep me posted.

Best,

Fadoua
