I recently created a new Bitbucket workspace and a repository for a project with an existing JIRA board. Immediately after making the workspace and repository, all users from the JIRA board were automatically added to the new Bitbucket workspace. The user count in the workspace showed 10 users, exactly matching the number of users on the JIRA board.
Surprisingly, when I removed users from the Bitbucket workspace, they were also removed from the JIRA board. Additionally, when I added a new user to the JIRA board, that user was automatically added to the Bitbucket workspace as well.
I’ve been managing Bitbucket and JIRA projects for the past 3 to 4 years and have never experienced this kind of behavior before. Could you please help me understand what’s happening here?
Hi @Tech Exactly Project Management
Thank you for reaching out to the community.
Could you confirm if you're managing your Bitbucket Cloud and Jira users from admin.atlassian.com portal?

Mark C
Yes. This is to inform you that I identified the root cause of the issue, although I’m still unsure how exactly it happened. The problem was that after creating the Workspace, a JIRA group was also added under the "Group" section, which led to the issue. However, I need to understand what mistake I might have made that caused the JIRA group to be added to the "Group" section in Bitbucket.
